Southeast Asia, September-October 2004
Including Singapore, Bangkok, and the Temples of Angkor
Wat in Cambodia
Seagate sent Heidi to their production facility in Singapore to work for three
weeks in September, and we took advantage of the opportunity to see some new
sights. It was quite a remarkable trip - if you ever want to see three completely
different, yet distinctly Asian, cultures then you can visit these three areas
all within two-hour flights of each other. We visited several countries in southeast
Asia in September and October:
- Singapore and Bangkok (click

Heidi was in Singapore for the last three weeks of September; I joined her
for the last week. While she slaved over a hot disk drive production line
during the day, I pretended to work on my laptop in the cushy Raffles hotel
room.
After Singapore, we had a week to visit some other parts of southeast Asia.
Because it is very easy to get flights from Bangkok to the Angkor Wat area,
we visited Bangkok, Thailand for a few days before venturing to Cambodia.
Unfortunately we did not try to visit more areas of Thailand ... next time!

Seeing Angkor Wat is quite remarkable, and easier than you might think. Click
